Helen D. (Lint) Goodhue Obituary (1922 - 2016)

Sidney- Helen D. (Lint) Goodhue, 93, passed away on May 24, 2016, in Waterville. She was born on June 13, 1922, to the late Walter and Francis (Eastman) Lint in Fairfield. In 1939, Helen married Earland. Together they owned and operated a dairy farm in Sidney where they also had a large vegetable garden that they were very proud of. Together they raised five children in their Sidney home that has been in the family for nine generations. Later in life Helen worked for the State of Maine as an Assistant to the State Treasure for 10 years. Besides being a very dedicated worker she was also very involved in many other things; she was a 4-H Leader in Sidney, was a part of the Sidney Extension, the Grange, and she volunteered over 3,000 hours at Thayer Hospital in Waterville. In her free time Helen enjoyed to travel on vacations and motorcycling and fishing with her husband Earland. Helen will always be remembered as being a prolific reader, as there were never enough reading materials around for her. Helen is predeceased by her husband Earland Goodhue; her parents; brother Harold Lint; sister Laura Aylward; and granddaughter Krista Goodhue. She is survived by her children, Clinton and his wife Patricia of Sidney, Lenore Buzzell and her husband Perry of St. James City, FL, Terry of Vinal Haven, Susan Rogers and her husband Glen or Orono, and William and his wife Donna of Augusta; and her grandchildren, Leane, Gregory, Carrie, Rebecca, Matthew, and Timothy; greatgrandchildren, Calvin, Alexander, Harrison, Nicholas, Edwin, Isaac, and Abigail. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers-Wheeler, 26 Church Street, Oakland. The funeral service will be Friday, May 27, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Lawry Brothers-Wheeler followed by burial at Sawtelle Cemetery in Sidney.
